Sally Noble serves as the Program Officer for the ACM Chicago Program and the Urban Education program, providing administrative and academic oversight for the programs.  In this role, she works closely with the directors, faculty, and staff of the Chicago Program, members of the ACM administration, and college faculty advisors to the programs.

Before joining the ACM, Noble worked as the Associate Director of the South Asia Language and Area Center and the Committee on Southern Asian Studies at the University of Chicago. She has also worked in other areas of educational administration at one of the City Colleges of Chicago, and with a private consulting firm. Her early interest in ACM programs was sparked when working as Assistant Director for the International Understanding Program of the ACM’s Urban Education Program several years ago. Noble holds an M.A. and Ph.D. in South Asian Languages and Civilizations from the University of Chicago, where her studies focused on the religion and literature of southern India.  She also holds a BA in Religion from Kalamazoo College.

Noble’s personal participation in experiential education programs, including domestic internships and study abroad, provide the foundation for her long-term commitment to working with multi-cultural and experiential education programs in higher education. As clichéd as the phrase may be, she believes these are experiences that can and do change one’s life forever.
