Melissa Niksic joined the ACM in July 2015 and serves as the Associate Vice President for Strategic Outreach and Communications. A member of the ACM's senior leadership team, she oversees the consortium's marketing communications, recruitment, and outreach efforts.
Previously, Melissa worked at Loyola University Chicago where she managed integrated marketing communications for various areas across the institution, focusing primarily on enrollment management. She specializes in all things digital, and her areas of expertise include multimedia storytelling, web content development, video production, social media, e-mail and mobile communications, digital advertising, and analytics/data reporting.
Before beginning her career in higher education, Melissa spent several years working as an editor and journalist. She's published several children's books, and her writing has appeared in local and national newspapers and magazines.
Melissa holds an M.S. in Journalism from Roosevelt University, and she earned a B.A. in English and Theatre from Elmhurst College. She enjoys taking advantage of the Chicago theatre and restaurant scenes, watching Blackhawks hockey, and going on long walks with her crazy dog.
