Students
from ACM institutions will be billed tuition and a program fee by
their colleges. Students from non-ACM colleges should consult the
ACM office in Chicago.
Tuition
For
students from ACM colleges, tuition for spring 2009 will equal approximately
one-half of the home college’s 2008-09 annual tuition, and is paid
directly to the home college.
Tuition refunds are made in accordance with the policy in effect
on the home campus in relation to the program calendar.
In
most cases, students from ACM colleges remain eligible for their
college’s financial aid program. They should consult their aid officers
well in advance.

Program
fee
The
program fee for spring 2008 was $2,200; this is subject to change
in 2009 due to changes in exchange rates or travel costs. The program
fee includes round trip group travel from Chicago to Gaborone via
Johannesburg.
No
part of the program fee expended on a student’s behalf is refunded
if the student withdraws from the program. Students from non-ACM
colleges are also charged a $125 administrative fee.
Other
expenses
Students’
housing, partial board (a food stipend) and most field trip expenses
are paid for by the program.
Students
are responsible for travel to and from Chicago, meals not covered
by the program fee, incidental personal expenses and items not related
to program participation. A typical student might expect to spend
approximately $300 per month; more if extensive personal travel
or purchases are planned.
