Before arriving in Florence, Italy, I expected the city to frighten and overwhelm me. Between the world-changing art and history, the city could easily intimidate foreigners.

What I discovered early in my semester, though, was that Florence is not just a grand museum; it is the world's largest playground. Students were given the freedom to explore and play make-believe in a city full of moving artwork and fascinating people. From impromptu games of follow-the-leader in Santa Maria Novella to ballroom dancing in Piazza della Republica, my four months in Florence, Italy left me rejuvenated and inspired.
