Students
and instructors will spend several days in Rome
and Venice. Field trips to other cities
studied in the courses may include Pisa and Siena.
Course
work includes frequent visits to museums and monuments, as well
as lectures by local scholars and art conservation specialists.
Courses are rigorous and include significant
research and analysis presented in scholarly papers and discussions.
Activities
and excursions not directly connected to the academic program
are also planned.
Living
in an Italian household in Florence greatly enriches the students’
understanding of contemporary Italian life. This personal experience
also provides an excellent opportunity to practice Italian outside
the classroom and acquire basic language skills required for daily
living.
