Courses in fall 2008

View of FlorenceAll students take a required course in Italian language and enroll in three of six elective courses which explore various facets of Renaissance art, history and literature, and classical figure drawing.

During the first four weeks, students learn about contemporary Italy and receive intensive instruction in Italian language. Afterwards, students continue these courses less intensively and choose three of the other six courses for the remainder of the semester.

With the exception of language courses, all classes are conducted in English.

Courses offered in fall 2007

Italian

Instructors: Linguaviva staff
Required course, 4 credits

Instruction emphasizes spoken colloquial Italian and is most intensive during the first four weeks so that students may quickly acquire conversational ability. Classes are taught completely in Italian. The Linguaviva instructors are not just language teachers but also rich sources of information about Italian culture.
