Students are
billed tuition and a program fee by their colleges.
Tuition
For students
from ACM/GLCA colleges, tuition for the fall 2008 seminar will be
approximately one-half of the home college's 2008-09 annual tuition.
For winter/spring 2008 short-term seminars, tuition will be a fraction
of the home college's 2007-08 annual tuition comparable to the term
or block. Tuition will be paid directly to the home college.
Refunds
Tuition refunds
are made in accordance with the policy in effect on the home campus
in relation to the program calendar.
Financial
aid
In most cases,
students from ACM/GLCA colleges remain eligible for their college's
financial aid program and should consult their aid officers well
in advance. Fall seminar students may have the opportunity to work
part-time at the library.
Program
fee
The program
fee in 2007 was $1,450 for the fall seminar; this is subject to
change for fall 2008. The program fee for the spring 2008 short-term
seminars will be $525. The fee covers housing, usually in furnished
double-occupancy studio apartments with kitchenettes. No part of
the program fee expended on a student's behalf will be refunded
if the student withdraws from the program.
Other
expenses
Students are
responsible for their own transportation, food costs, linens, cookware,
books, and personal expenses. Book fees for the semester will be
around $200. Meals and personal expenses will range between $350-$500
a month. Meal costs will vary depending on whether your cook for
yourself, eat at inexpensive restaurants, or eat more expensively.
Personal expenses might include cultural events, concerts, shows,
gifts, etc.
Deposits
In addition
to the non-refundable program deposit of $400 (which is applied
to the program fee), students are charged a $100 housing security
deposit, which will be refunded after the program if there is no
damage to the apartment.
Students
from non-ACM/GLCA colleges
These students
are charged a $125 administrative fee; they should contact the ACM
office for more information on costs.
