Majors/minors: Political Science major, Communication Studies minor

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: Service-learning and student volunteer outreach, President of the Coe College Democrats, Gay/Straight Alliance, Intern for the Iowa Democratic Party (2010), interested in Politics, Art, Religion, Music, Dogs, Antiques, Feminism, Pursuing happiness for myself and others.  Oh, and post-its!

Why I chose to do this program: I chose this program because I have reached a point in my life where I need to be liberated; I need to recapture my voice and my love for learning; I need new people, new places, new smells, new tastes, and a new language; I need to hear some new stories and share a few of my own.  I desire to spread my wings and set myself free.  What else can I say?  Italy is calling!

What I'm most excited about: Ah, such a cruel question to ask!  How can I pick one thing?  From the wine to the architecture, I want it all!  I suppose one thing that I'm very eager to learn about is Italian politics and government!

Anything else?  I think this about sums it up:

"I have been astonished that men die martyrs for their religion-
I have shuddered at the thought. I shudder no more.
I could be martyred for my religion.
 Love is my religion."
