Hometown: Lago Vista, TX

Major and minors: International Political Economy major, Spanish and Central American Culture and Society minors

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: At CC I work at the Career Center as an Intern.  I also participate in two separate class committees, a program that mentors at risk youth and I work with our Empty Stocking Fund program to help plan a holiday 5K Charity Race.  I love traveling, reading, movies, scuba diving, going to the lake, my dog Jasmine and spending time with my friends and family.

Why I chose to do this program: My primary goal is improve my Spanish and I know that the only way for me to truly become bilingual is to immerse myself in the culture and I couldn't think of a better place to do it than Costa Rica; home to the happiest people on earth, beautiful views, an amazing culture and delicious fruit.  Also, ACM seems like a great program and I've heard only the best things, so I'm hoping my experience will be no different.

What I'm most excited about: I'm so excited to go to Central America! This is going to be something totally different than I have ever done before, which is scary, but exciting at the same time.  I really think that this is going to help me grow as an individual and teach me things that I never would have learned in a classroom in Colorado.  Also, I am from Texas and I have a passion for Tex-Mex, so I am ready for the real deal!
