Hometown: San Anselmo, CA

Major/minors: Major in Studio Art, minors in Asian Studies and The Book

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: Room 46 mixed a cappella, Women's Rugby, Japanese language classes, mentoring incoming freshmen, river rafting trips, friendship, theatre performances, arts & crafts, playing guitar and piano, partaking in pranks, and picking flowers.

Why I chose to do this program: I've recently fallen in love with art, and because of this I think Florence and I will become good friends over the next few months.  Before April of this year I had never been to Europe, and if all goes well I'll be able to immerse myself in the culture, the language, the cuisine, and the passions of Italy.  My figure drawing could definitely use some improvement and after this semester, I want to be able to muster a decent recreation of the human form.  An added bonus is my hope of riding a vespe to the countryside.

What I'm most excited about: I think the previous paragraph answers this question...  But there's more to be excited about.  I'm stoked to have class outside of the classroom, romping around Florence to learn about the connections of the city's art, history, and literature.  To sing Italian songs.  To go on our day trips to other parts of Italy.  To talk with my hands.  All good things.
