Hometown: Portland, OR

Major/minor: Comparative Literature major, Spanish minor

Campus activities and interests: I'm involved in year long intramural sports, and am active in several youth programs. I also contribute to our school's newspaper.

Why I chose the ACM Chicago Urban Studies program: I chose the Urban Studies program because I've been craving the opportunity to get my hands dirty with some real world experience. I want to live and breathe the issues that matter, and I especially want the unique opportunity to experience a range of issues that the Urban Studies program provides.

What I'm most excited about: I'm most excited to meet everyone and to start exploring the city. I've got a list going... live music, Cubs games, neighborhoods and restaurants to visit. I can't wait.

Anything else?  The hope for my blog is that it will be very unlike the other journal style blogs that are out there: I hope to have regular twitter updates from wherever I am, to post my videos and pictures, and to constantly be discovering new creative ways to blog. I find that the best way for me to express myself is ever changing, and that my experiences and ideas might be best expressed by literary examples one day and by a music video link the next. It'll be fun, I hope...
