Majors: Health and Society, Spanish

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: Orchestra, Habitat for Humanity, Spanish club

Why I chose to do the Mexico summer program: I wanted to travel this summer and get some credit at the same time. This seemed like a perfect opportunity, because I could improve my Spanish in the fantastic immersion setting as well as gain internship experience.  Plus, with all the relations between the US and Mexico, experience here could be extremely helpful in the future.

What I'm most excited about: Getting to experience all the great things that Mexico City has to offer!  There's the historical sites (pyramids!), awesome food, and wonderful people.

Anything else? Mexico City is much different than I thought it would be. Of course like any big city, you have to be cautious, but it's safer than most people think and the people here are very friendly. I've had a great time and I can't wait to return some day!
