Caitlin Barbera
- Colorado College
- Newberry Seminar, Fall 2010

Hometown: Colorado Springs, CO
Major & minor: History major, possible minor in Russian and Eurasian Studies
Activities & interests: I sing in my school's all-girl A Cappella group, and play club rugby. In the past I've played oboe in orchestra. I love to write, and I also love cartoons and comics of all varieties. I want to be a specialist in Eastern European history, especially medieval.
Why I chose to do this program: I chose the Newberry Library Seminar because I was excited at the chance to do my own research. I think this program offers an amazing opportunity to learn the skills needed to sustain both research and writing, and also to learn what and how I want. Not to mention the opportunity to work with such amazing books! The fact that the program is in such a big and vibrant city as Chicago is certainly also a plus.
What I'm most excited about: I'm going to have to go with the books, and the access to documents far older than I would have been able to see at my college's library. But also being in a city, and all the art and music I'll be able to see there.
