Lauren Bowman

  • Ripon College
  • Costa Rica, Spring 2011

Hometown: McFarland, WI

Majors: Environmental Studies and Global Studies

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: I'm the vice-president of Cultural Diversity Club, and I'm also involved in several groups such as the Ripon College Democrats, the Network (a gay-straight alliance), the Ethical Leadership Program, Service Corp (a volunteer organization), and rRumba (a Latin dance club).

Why I chose to do this program: I chose to do this program because it fits in perfectly with both of my majors while allowing me to research a topic which interests me, fair trade. Additionally, I chose this program as a way to better improve my Spanish speaking skills.

What I'm most excited about: I'm most excited about getting out of the cold Wisconsin snow into the nice Costa Rican weather and having a great life experience!
