Major and minor: Art Studio major & Environmental Issues minor

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: I'm involved with my schools radio station as a DJ and art director, and I also organize a monthly event called the Really Really Free Market (it's like a swap meet but every thing is free!). I like to spend my free time making pie, climbing of rooftops, and biking.

Why I chose to do this program: The Brazil program offered a great synergy of experience: the opportunity to learn about a new culture that is rich and diverse, a chance to learn a beautiful language, and the time to do an analysis of the various ways humans interpret their relationship to the natural environment.

What I'm most excited about: I'm especially eager to find a capoeira community to plug into. Brazil has so much to offer artistically that I'm just ready to be swept up in all its unique movements-in dancing (samba) and in the capoeira joda.
