ACM-Mellon Post-doctoral Fellowship for 2010-2012
Cornell College, a private undergraduate liberal arts college, invites applications for a two-year Post-Doctoral Teacher-Scholar Fellowship position in anthropology for the 2010-11 and 2011-2012 academic years. This position is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation through a grant to the Associated Colleges of the Midwest, a consortium of 14 independent liberal arts colleges located in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Colorado.
Fellows will have a half-time teaching load and will receive strong support for their research; the Fellowship program will combine campus-based mentoring with consortial orientations and workshops to provide the Fellows a rich introduction to teaching, scholarship, and professional development at residential liberal arts colleges.
Over the course of this two-year appointment, the Post-Doctoral Fellow, residing in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, will teach introductory anthropology, one or more area studies courses in Latin America, and topical courses in economic and/or political anthropology. The teaching load will provide the Fellow with the opportunity to develop and teach anthropology courses at a variety of levels.
