Opportunities for ACM Faculty

ACM provides a variety of opportunities for faculty at ACM colleges to extend their expertise and gain new perspectives.

Conferences and workshops

ACM sponsors a variety of conference and workshops for faculty and staff each year. Many are in connection with grant-funded programs (see below), while others are funded by ACM. In addition, events sponsored by individual colleges are sometimes open to faculty from throughout the ACM. See the ACM calendar for upcoming events.

ACM-University of Chicago Faculty Development Grants

The University of Chicago has generously created an ACM Faculty Development Grant Program to promote interaction between ACM faculty and the University. The five-year program provides grants to support faculty travel and costs associated with brief residencies for research, participation in workshops or seminars, and other activities at the University. See the Call for Proposals for more information.

Professional Development Grants

The ACM Academic Deans award grants to fund selected faculty-initiated projects.

Grant-funded programs

Positions on ACM off-campus study programs

Faculty at ACM colleges can apply for appointments as Program Directors and Visiting Faculty on ACM programs in Africa, Asia, Europe and the U.S.

Faculty travel grants

Grants are available for travel to Costa Rica, Japan, the Newberry Library (Chicago), and the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (TN).

Opportunities sponsored by ACM colleges

As available, information will be posted here about opportunities sponsored by individual colleges and open to participants from ACM colleges.
