Jillian Sarazen Studying abroad in Costa Rica was by far one of the best and most important experiences I have ever had and continues to have a daily influence on my life. I gained so much in those four months: high proficiency in Spanish, independence living in a different culture, two wonderful families that welcomed me with open arms, and new friendships with the other American students in the program. It allowed me to pursue Spanish language learning in an immersive environment, and I was able to realize my interests in environmental sciences. The experiences I had and connections I formed in Costa Rica will continue to stay with me throughout my life, and I cannot thank ACM enough for the amazing opportunity.

—Jillian Sarazen, Costa Rica, Fall 2014
