The
Tanzania Program is a fall semester program for well-prepared, motivated
students seeking to study and conduct field work in the natural
and social sciences.
The
program is both physically and academically challenging. Only well-qualified
students with strong recommendations from faculty should apply to
participate.

Orientation
On
July 29, 2008, Immediately prior to traveling to Tanzania, program
participants will attend a pre-departure orientation at the
ACM office in Chicago. This will include discussions of the program
schedule, a review of the personnel in Dar es Salaam, security and
health in Dar and in the field, and cultural differences between
Tanzanian and United States citizens.
The orientation will conclude with a panel of program “veterans”
who discuss aspects of the program they encountered. When possible,
a former director of the program will attend.
