course, taught by zoology faculty at the University of Dar es Salaam,
examines the fundamental elements of ecology, drawing its examples
from Tanzanian ecosystems, especially those of the Serengeti Plain
and Ngorongoro Crater.

Students
study ecosystems, biological communities, species interactions, organismal
varieties and development, biodiversity and human ecology. In the
field, students survey habitats and organisms of the Northern Region.
The course concludes with papers and written examinations.
