ACM Colleges Respond to Killing of George Floyd

A series of racist acts, including the killing of George Floyd and others, and the protests that have ensued, have made these recent weeks particularly painful and difficult for Minneapolis–St. Paul, the Midwest, and the nation.

The Associated Colleges of the Midwest stands against racism and brutality of any kind and affirms that Black lives matter. We support social activism and the right to protest; we do not condone violence.

We join our member colleges in their efforts to learn, grow, and support healing in the aftermath of these tragic killings and invite you to read more about how they are responding to these events below.

These statements are an important first step in addressing the challenge and opportunity before us to create an educational environment—and a world—that is just, equitable, and anti-racist.
