Hometown: Bernard, IA

Major/minor: Asian Studies/Creative Writing

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: Vice President of Anime Club at Coe, photography, drawing, poetry

Why I chose to do this program: I chose this program because it offers the widest range of opportunity for immersion in Japanese culture through the homestay and intensive language classes.

What I am most excited about: Meeting my host family (I'm nervous too) and making new friends in Japan. I'm also interested in studying Japan's gay culture from a sociological standpoint.
