Hometown: Maple Grove, MN

Major/minor: Anthropology/Sociology, Middle Eastern Studies, Women & Gender Studies

Campus activities, involvement, or other interests: Oles for Justice in Palestine, St. Olaf Gay Lesbian or Whatever!, St. Olaf Gender and Sexuality center co-coordination, and Enough! Student movement. I am very much interested in learning about other cultures and religions, especially in terms of ritual, myth, and concepts of gender.

Why I chose to do this program: I chose this program because I am very much in love with the Arab World and with Jordan. I also want to become fluent in Modern Standard Arabic.

What I am most excited about: I'm most excited to explore Amman!

Anything else? I have a collection of world religious texts, and I am a diehard Star Trek fan.
