When I told my Indian host family how small my town's population was, they said, "That's the amount of people on Prabhat Road!" I laughed, because it was true. Stepping foot in Pune marked a huge leap for a small town person like me, and I am so grateful for the experience. It was challenging, exciting, and deeply spiritual as I learned who I was and more about a far corner of the world I previously knew very little about. The culture is so vibrant and complex, and at the center of it all is its pulse: the people. The relationships I established there I will treasure for the rest of my life, to say nothing of getting to weave through streets, see gigantic Buddhist and Hindu temples, climb mountains, and dodge rickshaws. I can't wait to visit India again.
