Dr. Maura Garcia

Dr. Maura García has experience working in different roles and institutions of the Costa Rican National Health System, including:

  • Surgery at Hospital San Juan de Dios;
  • Internal Medicine at Hospital San Vicente de Paul;
  • Pediatrics at Hospital San Vicente de Paul;
  • Gynecology and Obstetrics at Hospital San Vicente de Paul; and
  • Community Medicine at Clínica Marcial Fallas.

She also has teaching experience at different universities in Costa Rica, including Universidad Internacional de las Américas (UIA), Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) and Universidad Latina. Dr. García has been professor of Histology, Physiology, Embryology and Anatomy of Medicine; Professor of Physiology, Anatomy and Histology of Pharmacy. She has taught courses such as: Asepsis – Antisepsis/Cardiopulmonary Semiology, as well as Pharmacy, and Health, and Society.

She holds a Degree and Doctorate in Medicine and Surgery from Universidad Internacional de las Américas - (UIA) in Costa Rica. Since 2015, she is an instructor of the class “The Impact of the Health System in Costa Rican” during the ACM fall semester.
