Living Arrangements

During your semester in Rio, you’ll experience the Brazilian way of life by living with a host family. PUC-Rio’s International Cooperation Central Coordination (CCCI) Office works diligently to place you in a homestay in the same city zone as the university.

Your commute from your family’s home to the campus will be at most 30 minutes by city bus. All host families are different – you may live with a grandmother, a middle-aged couple, or a family with young children.

Living with a host family gives the rare opportunity to practice your Portuguese language skills, try new foods, and learn what it’s like to be part of a Brazilian family. You will have a private room in your home with basic amenities. You will also have access to kitchen and laundry facilities.
