Administrative Assistant in Amsterdam

ACM seeks an Administrative Assistant for the fall 2018 Amsterdam program. The Administrative Assistant receives a stipend of $500 for working a total of 30-35 hours throughout the semester. Participation in the fall 2018 Amsterdam program is required for this position.

Marlee Stein, ACM Off-Campus Study Program Coordinator, supervises the assistant remotely from the ACM office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Helping coordinate logistics in conjunction with the visiting faculty director for cultural activities and events sponsored by ACM.
  • Creating and managing a Facebook group for ACM Amsterdam students.
  • Creating a WhatsApp group for the students and visiting faculty director.
  • Serving as the student liaison between the ACM and visiting faculty director. This might include conveying important information to the group or helping schedule meetings between the students and visiting faculty director.
  • Writing and developing material for a student guide to Amsterdam.
  • Sharing and promoting events sponsored by the VU Semester in Amsterdam and the International Student Office among ACM students, as well as other events offered in the community.
  • Writing a short monthly newsletter to their student cohort about upcoming activities and group meetings.
  • Regularly meeting with the visiting faculty director.

Required skills:

  • Familiarity with Google Suite apps, Windows, Mac, and Microsoft Office
  • Enthusiasm and strong interest in seeking out immersive opportunities
  • Good time management skills and flexibility
