Who can apply
The ACM Jordan program is only open to students at the 14 ACM member colleges. Students from institutions outside the ACM should inquire directly through AMIDEAST.
ACM’s partner in Jordan is AMIDEAST, a leading non-profit international education organization.

Courses & credits
Recommended credit is 17 semester credits or the equivalent. See course descriptions
- Arabic language
- Elective courses in international relations, culture and the arts, women’s and gender studies, religion, and more
- Independent study project, community-based learning course, or elective course with a research component
No prerequisites. Except for the required Arabic language courses, all classes are conducted in English.

See how various civilizations helped shape Jordan into the nation it is today. Traces of Roman architecture, medieval citadels, and ancient Biblical sites will give you a glimpse of its diverse past.

Experience the excitement of an urban lifestyle! Daily life in Amman will teach you to find your way around a large city. You’ll have the chance to explore everything from unique restaurants to art galleries, learning more about Jordan’s culture along the way.
The Jordan program changed my outlook on the world. It allowed me to explore the food and culture of the region, gain unique knowledge on Islam and women's issues, and grow into a more confident person.

On the Jordan program, I completed a community practicum at the Jordan Tourism Board. It was a great way to experience a different aspect of the culture and to form relationships with Jordanians.

My host family was extremely kind and welcoming during my time in Jordan. I spent a lot of time chatting with my host mom and her friends, learning Arabic from my three-year-old host sister, and enjoying my host grandma's delicious cooking.
